BCPS Partners with Blue Spear Solutions to Enhance School Safety Preparedness
Multi-Year Sponsorship Provides District Staff with Bleeding Control Training
In setting the standard for emergency preparedness in schools, Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) welcomes a three-year partnership with Blue Spear Solutions to provide its online Bleeding Control Training to all District employees at no cost. This important partnership will ensure that more than 33,000 District educators, administrators and staff know how to effectively utilize the components of the Stop the Bleed kits already available in our schools and departments – when bystanders can be the true first responders.
“We appreciate the partnership with Blue Spear Solutions that is bringing this essential, life-saving training to all of our employees,” said BCPS Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn. “Ensuring everyone knows the proper way to use the critical tools contained in the kits can help save lives in an emergency.”
Blue Spear Solutions’ one-hour, online Bleeding Control Training aligns closely with the American College of Surgeons’ Stop the Bleed Campaign, whose goal is to build resilience within communities by teaching the public how to recognize life-threatening bleeding and intervene effectively before professional help arrives.
The course incorporates instructor-led videos, interactive quizzes and voice-over slide presentations in a series of modules designed to empower staff to take purposeful action that can help stop the bleed – whether in a classroom, hallway or on the field.
Blue Spear Solutions is supported by AutoNation, CENTEGIX, SaferWatch, Lipton Toyota, Vaughn Sports Academy, Raptor Technologies and Hudson Capital Group in providing this critical training initiative.
